Congratulations to Diana Schneider , who is ONE OF TWELVE teachers in the STATE OF TEXAS presented with the 2010 Outstanding Teaching of the Humanities Awards. This prestigious award, presented by Humanities Texas, recognizes the contributions of exemplary teachers of literature at elementary, middle, and high schools. Mrs. Schneider will receive $5000 and the school will receive $500.

All of us here at Henderson already know the great contributions Mrs. Schneider makes to our campus...not only developing adolescent thinkers but also serving as a leader to many of our staff. She always has time to help a fellow teacher.  Henderson Middle School is very proud of Mrs. Schneider.

Outdoor Math Project

6 th and 7 th grade students of Mrs. LeGrande, Mrs. Davis, and Mrs. Drinkard have been involved in an outdoor math project that will soon be a bright spot behind our school cafeteria. Students have been involved in planning, calculating, checking prices, and calling businesses to get this project started. Soon after the planning stage, the students set out to spread two big loads of sand across the 5,922 square feet of bare ground. A new fence will soon be put up by these math students and grass will be planted. Students will have a spot to enjoy next year when they return to Henderson. Great job, students.
