![]() | Hi! My name is Danny Shannon. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Lamar University-Beaumont in August 1992 with a double minor in Criminal Justice and Communication. I was a member of Psi Chi, The National Honor Society in Psychology and I am presently pursuing a Masters Degree in Special Education. I worked many years in the mental health and restaurant fields. I began teaching as a substitute for Hardin-Jefferson ISD in December 2002. I am certified in Special Education EC-12 and have been working in the CHAracter Monitoring Program (CHAMP) classroom since August 2003. I have done volunteer work with The Garth House, working with abused children and I am a VBS Tribe Leader and Sunday School teacher. I am also on the children's ministry committee at my church. I love my chosen career very, very much and bring my life experiences as well as my credentials into the classroom every day in hope of changing young lives. I like to think of myself as a difference maker. |
The CHAracter Modification Program (CHAMP) classroom's purpose is to help students learn school behaviors which will enable them to be successful in less restrictive settings. It is designed for students demonstrating a pattern of disruptive behavior that is detrimental to his/her own or others learning process in the classroom and/or exhibited behavior that might be hazardous to the safety of all that are involved.
The first priority of this classroom is the behavior stabilization of each of our children. While we feel academics are EXTREMELY IMPRORTANT, behavioral needs are our number one priority. |
