This school year I am at Sour Lake Elementary on Monday and Wednesday. My conference time on these days is 1:15-1:45. Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, I am at China Elementary. My Conference time is 2:20-3:15 on Tuesday and Thursday. On Friday afternoon from 1:30-3:00, I am at Henderson Middle School. Classes run every 30 minutes from 8:15 until 3:15. Lunch is 11:00 every day. Speech is fun! We work on improving you child's articulation, fluency, language, voice, and hearing. To be eligible for speech therapy your child must be referred using guidelines set by the Gulf Coast Co-op. I also work with the morning PK class from 8:45-9:15 on Monday and Wednesday to help these children with their speech and language using literature based phonological activities PALS(Preschoolers Acquiring Language Skills). Some regular education students with speech and /or language difficulties are worked with using RTI(Response to Intervention Techniques). I have at least one ARD Admission Review Dismissal meeting with the parents each year. Speech Progress reports are sent home at the end of each 9 weeks in his/her report card. One the bottom of your child's speech progress report the time and days are posted. If ever any questions about when your child comes to speech fill free to call me at school 981-6440 (SLE), 981-6410 (CE), or at home 753-3487. I have rules posted in my classroom. 1. Walk to and from speech 2. Take care of your room and folder 3. Be polite to teacher and Classmates 4. Sit correctly in speech LLP Consequences 1. Be fair and read rule you broke 2. Write name on sheet of paper 3. Time out 5 minutes 4. Talk with parent and principal I ask that parents go over homework with their child at night and on weekends. Please sign their paper where it says Helpers signature. Return on their next speech day. Usually they come to speech on Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday. Some students only come one day a week, while others 3 or more days. At the end of the year your child will have a thick folder if he/she returns all the speech papers. This will give you something to work on with your child, during the summer. |
